Orabiss jewellery uses 2.5-micron 18K gold vermeil plating over a sterling silver base.

Because vermeil is a plated jewellery finish, the appearance and longevity of the gold layer can vary with use, friction, moisture, skin chemistry and environmental exposure.

To support the long-term care of your Orabiss pieces, we offer a Lifetime Plating Guarantee subject to the terms below.

1. First 12 Months — Complimentary Replating

For eligible plating-related issues occurring during the first 12 months from the date of purchase, Orabiss will provide complimentary replating.

The jewellery must first be inspected by Orabiss to determine whether the issue qualifies under this guarantee.

The customer is responsible for:

* shipping the jewellery to Orabiss; and
* return shipping from Orabiss to the customer.

2. After 12 Months

The Lifetime Plating Guarantee continues after the first 12 months.

Eligible replating after the first 12 months may be subject to a service/replating charge.

The customer remains responsible for applicable shipping costs.

3. What the Guarantee Covers

The guarantee is intended to cover eligible plating failure attributable to the plating itself, subject to inspection by Orabiss.

The guarantee does not mean that the gold layer is physically incapable of changing, fading or wearing under every condition.

4. What the Guarantee Does Not Ordinarily Cover

The Lifetime Plating Guarantee does not ordinarily cover:

* scratches;
* dents;
* bending or deformation;
* accidental damage;
* impact damage;
* abrasion;
* misuse;
* exposure to harsh chemicals;
* chlorine exposure;
* household chemicals;
* cleaning products;
* third-party repairs;
* third-party replating;
* unauthorised modifications;
* improper care;
* loss or theft;
* damage to diamonds or other stones; or
* structural damage to the jewellery.

Where damage to the underlying jewellery affects the ability to replate the piece safely, Orabiss may first require repair or may determine that replating is not technically feasible.

5. Why Plating Changes Over Time

Gold vermeil is a layer of gold applied over a silver base. Its appearance and longevity can vary according to:

* frequency of wear;
* friction;
* individual skin chemistry;
* perspiration;
* moisture;
* water exposure;
* perfume;
* cosmetics;
* lotions;
* chlorine;
* cleaning products;
* chemicals;
* storage; and
* handling.

The 2.5-micron plating specification does not mean that the jewellery is permanently immune to wear.

6. Inspection

All Lifetime Plating Guarantee claims are subject to inspection by Orabiss.

Orabiss will determine whether the reported issue is an eligible plating issue or arises from wear, abrasion, accidental damage, chemical exposure, misuse, structural damage or another excluded circumstance.

Nothing in this guarantee excludes statutory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

7. Separate From Returns

The Lifetime Plating Guarantee is a service/maintenance guarantee for eligible plating issues.

It is not an ordinary return or change-of-mind policy and does not convert a product into a returnable item merely because its plating has changed through ordinary use.
